What Others Can Do

1. Pass the For the Women of Katrina page on to your own Email lists, to political and aide groups, or if you know Katrina aide workers, pass this on directly to them.

2. Help us get this document translated into other languages. We have Spanish language capability, but there are many other languages spoken by Katrina victims.

3. If you are a Katrina aide worker or volunteer, please pass copies of the For the Women of Katrina page to women evacuees, to other aide workers, and post on bulletin boards.

4. Help research, and tell us about, other online documents on women and disasters that we can add to our women and disaster links.

5. If you are an advocate for victims of violence against women, organize a phone list of agencies and individuals willing to help Katrina women victims of violence against women. That is, a list of agencies and individual advocates willing to take calls from the women, do phone counseling, and do some long distance phoning to advocate with law enforcement and services at the victim's locale.

Feel free to photocopy and distribute this information as long as you keep the credit and text intact.
