Language Line Information

For Interpreters Dial 1-800-528-5888

The Language Line is a phone bank of professional interpreters covering over 140 languages. These interpreters are available nationwide, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from any phone. Any one can use the Language Line, with or without a subscription.

  • All police agencies in Sonoma County and many police agencies throughout the United States have subscriptions to the Language Line. All officers have access from any phone, any where, any time.

  • With a subscription, a Language Line interpreter costs between $2.20 and $2.60 a minute, depending on the language. (Without a subscription, an interpreter costs $4.50 a minute.)
